The last album of Maria Mena, Viktoria, was intended for Mena to tell her life story. After listening to that album you feel like you knew her better. Norwegian rejuvination hardware singer hinted the album that she currently was not very good about herself. That's her latest album Weapon In Mind different.
Her sixth album is a lot more cheerful and there is quite a spicier. This also has to do with the fact that there is a different team behind it. By Viktoria she worked mainly with Martin rejuvination hardware Sjølie, which is also present on this album but also produce alongside Sjølie Thomas Eriksen and dance producer Mats Lie Skåre. It is clear that the two last-mentioned were present because there is considerably experimented with a new sound.
Where she is on her previous albums mainly made use of her voice and a piano dares to take them out now. That sometimes leads to good songs, but also failed a few times in a painful way. Two examples of the experiment have failed Interesting and All The Love. Both songs have a bit of the same structure. They start as nearly rejuvination hardware all her songs, singing and piano. Then come to the chorus suddenly computer sounds in. This feels very out of place. The songs themselves are already strong enough. Who survive also without those weird noises. While listening to Interesting seems even though there is a doorbell.
Luckily, some songs rather to the renovation in a good way sound. As You're All Telling Stories because the entire song is built as a dance track. The innovation does not come from nothing, you know they are working out. If you are afraid that the old Maria Mena is about nothing more then you do not have to be afraid. Martin Sjølie has still interfered with some number and you can feel it immediately. Especially with the beautiful ending to the album The End.
The numbers are not all equally strong, but Mena has a fantastic rejuvination hardware voice and you can hear in every song. Her voice do you really touching. When something ingetogenere songs she has something mysterious about it and when she unwraps feel that they mean it. With her voice, she is holding the plate.
All in all, it has become a plate with ups and downs. Not as strong rejuvination hardware as Viktoria but no material to let the table stand.
